In 1939 Severance Tool moved to its present facility in Saginaw. To date, our plant has grown to 50,000 square feet in two buildings.

We maintain over a million dollars of standard products, in stock, available for immediate shipment. In the mid 1980's we established a computerized bar code system for on-line manufacturing and inventory control. During this time we also started installation of many new, fully automated, CNC multi-axis grinding and turning centers. We operate several 5 and 6 axis contouring machining centers with tool changers to manufacture our products to very exacting specifications.

Severance Metal Division is also located on the same property. This division manufactures solid carbide blanks and pre-forms for our own use and sale to other tool makers.

Better quality and cost controls goals are a constant consideration for our product line which includes our standard catalog line of products. Approximately 40% of our production time is set aside to manufacture special tools to customer specifications and also to our own designs. Our engineering department is totally equipped with three of the latest CAD systems and we have a very large CAM computer to program our 4 and 5 simultaneous axis machining centers. We supply standard and special tools to automotive, aircraft, surgical, defense, and the general metal cutting industries.

Our corporate headquarters is located in Saginaw, Michigan. We maintain manufacturing centers in both Saginaw, Michigan and Brentwood, New York. We also have stocking warehouses in Grand Prairie, Texas; Riverside, California; and Downview, Canada.
